Disneyworld- Long trip=Long post

Sorry this has taken me a while. I am loving being 30!

I had so many pictures and had such a great time at disneyworld that i made this picture for you to get a glimpse of what we did and some of the highlights.
Click on the picture to enlarge it.

Here's the rundown....

1.We stayed in Disney Resort hotels. Each night there was a mickey towel on my bed. On our first few days there we stayed in the animal kingdom lodge. it was amazing and had giraffes and other savanna animals grazing around it. we ate at an amazing African restaurant called boma. the chef gave my mom a personal tour of the buffet and brought her personally a sugar free cheesecake. We all cried because it was the first time in 3 years since she has had cheesecake. I knew then that this was a trip where dreams could come true. (woah that was cheesy)

2. Our first day at the parks we went to the animal kingdom. all the parks had Christmas decorations going up, and the Animal Kingdom tree was my favorite. Animal kingdom was so cool. We rode expedition Everest 2 times in a row (I won't be doing that again, after the second time i was sweating) there was no wait so we got on immediately. We picked a great time to go, we got on almost everything with no lines. we also had great luck with parade seats and other things. The Finding nemo musical made us cry. the rhino was on the safari we went on. Since animal kingdom closes early, we spent the rest of the night at epcot. That's where we discovered the chips and salsa and guacamole in the Mexico pavilion.

3. The next day we spent at Disney's Hollywood studios. We rode my favorite ride, The tower of terror, three times. I convinced mom and dana to go to the animation academy where we met the incredibles, up cast and learned how to draw tigger. to my delight mom and dana loved the drawing classes so much that we went back once more that day and twice on Saturday. We went swimming at the hotel and then got ready for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, a special event at the magic kingdom with a special parade and fireworks, free treats, special shows and best of all we got right on rides at the magic kingdom that would typically have hour waits (or to many kids) so fun and so worth it!!!

4.Wednesday we went to downtown Disney for lunch and shopping. Mom and dana did a great job stuffing 80 new potato head pieces into the giant potato head to add to mom's spectacular collection. we checked into our new hotel, the Caribbean beach resort and pirate themed rooms and welcomed my roommate amy and her mom to florida. the rest of the afternoon was spent at the magic kingdom then met amy and bonnie at the Polynesian resort for dinner at the ohana restaurant. Since both of us turned 30 this year this trip was out birthday bash. Since our food passes were about to expire mom dana and i ran to epcot and got 3 more orders of chips and salsa. (way to much food at ohana+chips and salsa= crazy girls and lots of leftovers for the next couple of days ) By this day i was getting tired and my feet hurt so i had to get new shoes, a fun pair of Disney crocs.

5. Thursday we observed Amy's birthday. we went to epcot and had lunch at the Coral reef restaurant. it was delicious and the view of the aquarium was awesome. we had lots of fun exploring epcot and taking fun pictures in each country. we had great seats for illuminations fireworks and shopped ourselves to the ground.

6. Friday we began at the magic kingdom. we were there just as they were opening and they had a little show where the characters ride in on the train and welcome everyone and then mickey and the cast members are walking around waving and welcoming you. A total highlight for me was when dana and i went to see tiana's showboat jubilee show while mom went to get Tinkerbell's autograph. we walked by the riverboat entrance at just the right time and asked a cast member what was going on...we got to be part of the few guests that got to be on the boat and part of the show. it was a dream come true for me to be a part of a Disney show. we spent the evening at the animal kingdom where dana and i got ourselves soaked on the river rapids. the last ride of the day and the only 2 on the whole big raft.

7.The last day of our trip was my birthday!!! I woke up to some very sweet cards and gifts. We spent the first part of our day at hollywood studios, went on tower of terror again, went to the drawing class and had lunch then we ran over to the animal kingdom to see the finding nemo musical again (Dana and i had been looking forward to seeing the nemo show the whole time we were planning this trip so we really wanted to see it again). i got a free frozen lemonade from a cast member. then we went back to Hollywood studios where i got the best gift from my sisters and their kids at home, a birthday video that they made for me and sent through dana's phone. I bawled, it was so cute! we saw the Osbourne spectacle of lights-an amazing dancing Christmas light show, and danced around to the music amongst the lights and falling "snow". For dinner I had made the last reservation of the day at tony's restaurant at the magic kingdom. It was a fantastic meal and they decorated the table for my birthday. a friend of ours who works at disneyworld met us there and we ended our trip trying to gather the last of our souvenirs.

It was such an amazing trip.

30 is definitely going to be my year!

On becoming an Adult

Anyone still out there? Yes. Oh good. I want your Opinion.
I am turning 30 this month and in addition to giddyness anticipating a fantastic birthday trip (Disneyworld here we come!) I have also been feeling very reflective. So before I release my thoughts from their personal incubator I wanted to put it out to my friends who are older and younger than I on what you think about turning 30, what you thought when you turned 30. Please comment.
To me 30 is the age where you are no longer a "young adult." so what now.

ps I promise to give pictures and reports of the trip as well as some of my thoughts, if I get comments.
